This year’s parade was particularly special as it marked the first-ever attendance of New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who participated following a personal invitation from community leader Karamjit Singh Dhaliwal. Dhaliwal, a respected figure known for his close relations with influential leaders across party lines, played a significant role in organizing and ensuring the success of the event.
The parade featured a vibrant display of patriotism, with residents, veterans, local organizations, and dignitaries coming together to honor the fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect America's freedoms and borders. The community’s collaboration and unity were key in making the parade a memorable success.
Taking the stage during the event was Manpreet Dhaliwal, son of Karamjit Singh Dhaliwal, who addressed the gathered crowd with an inspiring speech. He was joined on stage by notable figures including New York State Senator Joe Addabbo, New York City Council Members Robert Holden and Joann Ariola, and Captain Karam Chaudhary of the NYPD’s 104th Precinct.
Their presence highlighted the significance of the occasion and underscored the community's deep respect for the sacrifices made by the nation's military personnel. The parade stood as a testament to the enduring values of honor, service, and unity that Memorial Day represents.
