South Africa rolls out phase 2 of Trusted Tour Operator Scheme

The Department of Home Affairs, South Africa has officially gazetted Phase 2 of the Trusted Tour Operator Scheme (TTOS), further advancing its mission to streamline visa processes and boost tourism in South Africa. The announcement invites domestic tour operators to submit expressions of interest to participate in this transformative initiative.

Phase 1 witnessed 2000 additional tourists from China and India applied, Phase 2 will further accelerate this growth as Home Affairs said to deliver on commitment to replace a manual, paper-based and insecure visa system with secure, digital infrastructure to drive economic growth. Tour operators that want to apply have 30 days to submit their applications through the online portal accessible via the Department’s website.

The Department of Home Affairs encourages domestic tour operators to review the gazetted invitation and submit their expressions of interest promptly. This phase is said to be a step forward in achieving the government’s priority of growing the economy through tourism while fostering inclusive development
