Donald Trump has taken a series of decisions since taking office as
President of the United States on January 20. Now, another decision has been
added to this. Donald Trump on Tuesday signed an order banning gender
reassignment for people under the age of 19. Meanwhile, in his first speech
after the oath-taking, Donald Trump had made it clear that his government would
only recognize two genders: male and female.
A stain on the country’s history
“Today, across the country, medical professionals are mass-disabling
and sterilizing children who are easily influenced,” the order signed by Donald
Trump said. “This dangerous trend is a stain on our nation’s history and must
end.”
Trump’s order further states, “The United States will no longer
fund, encourage, assist, or support the gender reassignment of children under
the age of 19. The United States will now strictly enforce all laws that limit
and prohibit these destructive procedures.”
Last week, Trump also made it clear at the Davos Economic Forum that
“gender reassignment surgeries will be very rare in the United States during
his term.” Meanwhile, about 24 states led by the Republican Party have already
banned gender reassignment surgery for minors.
Transgender people may be banned from the military
Earlier, Donald Trump had asked the US Department of Defense,
Pentagon, to consider banning transgender people from enlisting in the
military. Donald Trump has already issued an order that now there will be only
two genders in America, male and female.
Donald Trump’s explosion of decisions
After assuming the office of President of
the United States, Donald Trump has issued several more executive orders. These
include pardoning those convicted of the violence that occurred in the US
Congress in 2020, expelling illegal immigrants, and declassifying files related
to the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, his family members Robert Kennedy,
and Martin Luther King Jr. Along with this, Donald Trump has also decided to
withdraw from the World Health Organization. He has also increased import
tariffs on Canada and Mexico.
