Indian American Forum Hosts Another Grand Community Celebration at Eisenhower Park
 
 
Long Island, NY – The Indian American Forum (IAF) once again demonstrated its commitment to community unity, cultural preservation, and civic engagement by organizing another highly successful Indian American Night at Eisenhower Park, Field #6A, on Long Island.
Despite the summer heat earlier in the day, community members turned out in large numbers to celebrate Indian culture, honor outstanding individuals, and enjoy an evening filled with music, dance, recognition, and fellowship. As temperatures cooled by the evening, hundreds gathered comfortably near the beautiful Lakeside Theatre to participate in the festivities.
The event was led by IAF Chairperson Indu Jaiswal, President Vimal Goyal, and Founder Dr. Bobby Kumar Kalotee, who were joined on stage by Town Supervisor Hon. Jen DeSena, representatives from the Parks Department, members of the Asian American Advisory Board, IAF Executive Members, and numerous community leaders.

The evening commenced with a stirring rendition of the United States National Anthem performed by Hanika Reddy Parvathala, followed by the Indian National Anthem sung by Bina Sabapathy, Indu Jaiswal, Dr. Bhavani Srinivasan, and Vimal Goyal.
Chairperson Indu Jaiswal warmly welcomed attendees and highlighted the significance of Indian American Night. Founder Dr. Bobby Kumar Kalotee introduced distinguished guests and expressed heartfelt gratitude to Nassau County and all supporters whose continued encouragement makes the annual celebration possible. President Vimal Goyal echoed those sentiments and thanked the community for its unwavering support.
 
The honoree segment, coordinated by Brahashitha Gupta, celebrated eleven exceptional individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to community service, leadership, and professional excellence. Each honoree was recognized for their selfless contributions and commitment to uplifting others.
One of the evening’s highlights was the recognition of the HCC Lions Cricket Team, winners of the 2026 Spring Cup. NYTCBL President Ajith Bhaskar proudly presented the championship trophy, while members of both the HCC Lionsand LIDB Strikers were honored with citations and plaques by Dr. Bobby Kumar Kalotee, Hon. Jen DeSena, IAF Board Members, and the Executive Team.
 
The cultural program captivated audiences throughout the evening. Under the dedicated leadership of Bina Sabapathy, performers showcased the rich diversity of Indian culture through dance forms representing East, West, North, and South India. Audiences enjoyed an energetic mix of Bollywood and Tollywood performances, classical Bharatanatyam presentations, and vibrant Bhangra routines.
A particularly memorable performance came from Guru Sadhna Paranji and the students of Sadhnalaya, whose presentation received tremendous appreciation from attendees. Special recognition was also given to Shilpa Jurani, Sadhna Paranji, Brahashitha Gupta, Sweta Goswamy, and singers Gautam Chopra and Jyoti Gupta for their outstanding performances and contributions to the cultural program.
 
Guests were treated to complimentary snack packets and delicious Pani Puri, which proved to be one of the evening’s most popular attractions. The beautifully decorated venue reflected the hard work and dedication of numerous IAF members and volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.
The evening concluded with a spirited Bhajan Jamming Session, featuring performances by Jyoti Gupta, Dr. Jag Kalra, Dr. Bhavani Srinivasan, Bina Sabapathy, Indu Jaiswal, Vandana Kumar, Dr. Neeru Bhambri, Harvinder Bhatia, Asha Dua, and Gautam Chopra, creating a memorable and uplifting finale.
In her closing remarks, Chairperson Indu Jaiswal thanked all attendees, volunteers, sponsors, media representatives, and photographer Ruchita Kaul for their support and participation. She expressed optimism for an even larger celebration next year as the Indian American Forum continues its mission of fostering unity, cultural pride, and community engagement.
 
Esteemed Honorees Recognized by the Indian American Forum
 
Karthikeyan Balakrishnan
A graduate of PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, with a Bachelor's Degree in Production Engineering (1999), Karthikeyan serves as Senior Program Manager at Tata Consultancy Services in Edison, New Jersey. A dedicated volunteer with the New York Tamil Academy (NYTA) for over a decade, he has served in numerous leadership roles including Picnic Organizer, Food Committee Chair, Annual Day Event Coordinator, PTA Lead, and School Director. He is also an active supporter of FETNA, NYTS, and TNF.
 
Nishant “Nick” Garg
A respected entrepreneur and community advocate, Nick Garg has over 25 years of experience in wireless communications, telecommunications, electronics repair, recycling, distribution, and consulting. Originally from Darjeeling, India, he built successful businesses across multiple technology sectors while remaining deeply committed to workforce development, sustainability, electronics recycling, and supporting underserved communities. His dedication to creating opportunities and empowering others has made a lasting impact throughout the region.
 
Archna Gautam
A seasoned banking professional who has held senior positions at Citi and other major financial institutions, Archna Gautam is a former Rotary Club President and has been actively involved with Rotary for over 15 years. She is widely recognized for her charitable fundraising efforts, community leadership, and ongoing service as an active member of IDPUSA.
 
Dincil George
A Team Leader at the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, Dincil George has dedicated himself to community service through multiple leadership roles. He currently serves as President of the Floral Park Bellerose Indian Merchant Association (FBIMA), President of the North Hempstead Indian Malayalee Association, General Secretary of the Ys Men’s Club of Long Island, and General Secretary of FIBA.
 
Dr. Anuj Goenka
Dr. Goenka serves as Vice-Chair of the Department of Radiation Medicine and Director of Radiation Oncology for Neuro-Oncology at Northwell Health. An Associate Professor and internationally respected physician, he specializes in treating complex neurological conditions while advancing innovative treatment protocols and clinical systems. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University with advanced training from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, he is also actively involved in community health initiatives, including wellness programs and charitable events on Long Island.
 
Sri Srinivas “Shankar” Jayashankar
Originally from Bengaluru, India, Shankar is a highly respected immigration attorney and community leader. Through his legal work, he has helped hundreds of immigrant families pursue their American dreams. For more than a decade, he and his family have hosted the annual Gombe Habba celebration during Dasara, preserving and promoting Indian culture for future generations. His dedication to community building, cultural education, and public service has made him a beloved figure throughout Long Island.
 
Manmeet Kaur
A successful entrepreneur and community advocate, Manmeet Kaur represents Villager’s Farmer Market and brings over fourteen years of experience in automobile sales and grocery store management. Known for her leadership abilities, customer service excellence, and commitment to community engagement, she continues to inspire others through her professional and civic contributions.
 
Kishore Malik
With over forty years of experience as a travel professional, Kishore Malik has traveled extensively around the world, developing a deep appreciation for global cultures and heritage. An active member of IDP USA, IALI, and several community organizations, he remains dedicated to serving and supporting the Indian American community.
 
Yogini Oza
Having immigrated to the United States nearly thirty-five years ago, Yogini Oza has devoted more than a decade to community service. She founded the Indo-American Lions Club of Long Island and has worked tirelessly to assist those in need through charitable initiatives. She has also served as Joint Secretary of IDP Long Island and remains actively involved in multiple women's and cultural organizations.
 
Raj Tyagi
A graduate of NIT Warangal and holder of a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from NYIT, Raj Tyagi has built a distinguished career in enterprise technology, operations, and ERP systems. An active community volunteer and former Membership Chair of IALI, he remains committed to supporting community initiatives while balancing a successful professional career and family life.
 
Anand Prakash Velayudhan
Anand holds a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from the University of Madras and a Master's Degree in Management from New York University. Currently serving as an Engineering Manager at Zebra Technologies, he has dedicated more than twelve years of service to the New York Tamil Academy. His volunteer contributions include serving as a teacher, committee chair, event coordinator, and School Director. He resides with his wife and two children and continues to actively support educational and cultural initiatives.
The Indian American Forum’s annual celebration once again showcased the strength, diversity, and spirit of the Indian American community, honoring individuals whose service, leadership, and dedication continue to inspire future generations.
