Plane Crash: Terrible plane crash in South Sudan, only one of 21 people survived; Indian citizen among the dead South Sudan : A plane has crashed in South Sudan. There were 21 people on board, including passengers and crew members. 20 people have died in the accident, including two Chinese and one Indian nationals. The plane was flying from Unity Oilfield Airport to the capital Juba when the accident occurred.
 
Unity State Information Minister Gatwech Bipal confirmed the accident. The plane was carrying oil sector employees associated with the Greater Pioneer Operating Company. This company works in collaboration with China National Petroleum Corporation and Nile Petroleum Corporation. The dead include two Chinese nationals and one Indian national. Only one of the 21 passengers survived. Initially, 18 people were reported to have died in the accident, but later it was confirmed that two more injured passengers had also died.
 
This brought the total death toll to 20. However, one person survived the accident. In the pictures going viral on social media, the remains of the plane were seen lying in a field. The plane was chartered by Greater Pioneer Operating Company (GPOC) and was operated by Light Air Services Aviation Company. Meanwhile, the cause of the accident is not yet known. Information Minister of the oil-rich Unity state, Gatwech Bipal, has given information about the accident. Continuous plane crashes since independence Since independence in 2011, South Sudan has suffered from poor transport infrastructure, and plane crashes are often caused by overloading or bad weather. South Sudan has suffered several plane crashes in recent years. In 2018, a plane traveling from Juba to Yirol crashed, killing 19 people. Also in 2015, a Russian cargo plane crashed shortly after taking off from Juba Airport, killing about 12 people.
