With Al-Nassr leading their opponents in the closing
stages at the Al-Awwal Park, Ronaldo got on the end of a driven cross from
former Liverpool star Sadio Mane to seal victory for his side.
The strike marked the 920th goal of Ronaldo's
distinguished career, more than two decades after he netted his first for
boyhood club Sporting Lisbon and just days before his 40th birthday.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner looked to have added
another goal to his tally in the closing stages with an incredible solo effort.
After receiving the ball on the edge of the penalty box
Ronaldo shimmied past a defender before lashing his strike beyond the
goalkeeper.
The stunning effort was ultimately ruled out by VAR
however, with an incredulous Ronaldo later seen saying to a pitchside TV
camera: 'Always against me, always cancel my goals.'
Ronaldo was seen embracing with long-time friend Piers
Morgan following the game, with the veteran journalist later writing on social
media that the Portuguese had been 'robbed'.
